Our school was named after the Swedish immigrant
"John Ericsson" who designed the USS Monitor.
Ms. Kandratino, students, George and John
thank CONSOLIDATED FREIGHTWAYS
for donating a reproduction plaque of the one placed on their former
truck terminal building located at 11 West Street in Greenpoint.
The plaque reads:

Consolidated Freightways filed for
bankruptcy and its terminal site
is presently under new ownership. The Museum and students
hope that some day The Greenpoint Monitor Museum will establish its home
along the Bushwick Inlet/East River and Quay St. where the USS Monitor
